Two Katy ISD Teams Set to Play in Area Playoffs

 

KATY (Covering Katy News)—Thanksgiving is here, and so is the area round of the Texas high school football playoffs.

With Cinco Ranch’s loss last week to Ridge Point, two Katy ISD football teams—Taylor and Katy—remain in the hunt for a state championship.

Taylor Mustangs vs. Langham Creek Lobos

When: 7 p.m. Friday, November 24

Where: Cy-Fair FCU Stadium

Briefly: The Mustangs are 6-4 and beat Fort Bend Bush 14-0 in bi-district play last week.

The Lobos, from District 17-6A, are 9-1 and beat Houston Heights 60-15 last week.

The winner will play the winner of the Kingwood-Clear Lake game, which is set for Saturday afternoon.

Katy Tigers vs. Cypress Ranch Mustangs

When: 12 p.m. Saturday, November 25

Where: NRG Stadium

Briefly: The Tigers are 9-0 and beat Fort Bend Travis 45-14 in bi-district play last week.

The Mustangs, from District 17-6A, are 8-2 and beat Bellaire 48-12 last week.

The winner will play the winner of the Atascocita-Dickinson game, which is set for Friday night.
