Bi-district Round of Football Playoffs Starts Friday

KATY (Covering Katy News)—The Texas high school football playoffs begin this week, and three Katy Independent School District teams will be part of the Friday night action.

Tickets at the gate at all three games are $10 for adults and $6 for students.

Fort Bend Travis Tigers vs. Katy Tigers

When: 6:30 p.m. Friday

Where: Legacy Stadium

Records: Travis 5-4, Katy 8-0

Briefly: Travis began its season with a 3-1 record, but has since gone 2-3. Travis is coming off a 51-13 victory over Kempner. Katy’s undefeated season has had only one close game, a 24-21 victory over the Woodlands in the season opener.

Cinco Ranch Cougars vs. Ridge Point Panthers

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Hall Stadium, 3335 Hurricane Lane, Missouri City

Records: Cinco Ranch 8-1, Ridge Point 8-1

Briefly: Both teams have only one loss, and their respective losses both happened on September 22. Katy defeated Cinco Ranch 30-0 and Dickinson defeated Ridge Point 41-34 in overtime.

Taylor Mustangs vs. Fort Bend Bush Broncos

When: 7 p.m. Friday

Where: Mercer Stadium, 16403 Lexington Ave., Sugar Land

Records: Taylor 5-4, Bush 7-1

Briefly: The Mustangs have won three of their last five to claim their playoff spot. Bush’s only loss came against Ridge Point.
