Record Early Vote Totals for Katy ISD School Board Race

 

KATY (Covering Katy News) – It’s been a record early voter turnout for the Katy school board election so far, and by the time the election is over there could be 6-thousand or more votes cast.

In last year’s school board race there were 5,654 total votes cast in the number one turn out election between Dawn Champagne and Don Massey.  In that race, 4,241 votes were cast during early voting. The rest came on election day.

Through the first four days of early voting this year, there have been more than 3,200 votes cast. Each day of early voting has set a record for turnout with a 4 day average of more than 800 votes per day.  At the time this article was published, early voting numbers had not been released for Friday.

The polls are open today (Saturday) until 7 p.m. The polls are closed on Sunday and will be open again on Monday and Tuesday from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. for early voting.  Here are the polling locations:
