KATY, Texas (Covering Katy News) — Families filled Katy’s historic downtown Saturday evening for Rock the Block, a free community event featuring live music, games, food and activities at Katy Historical Town Square.
The Aug. 22 event ran from 7 to 10 p.m. and featured a live performance by Sector-A Band.
Visitors could take part in basketball, cornhole and arcade games, while children and families also had access to face painting, a photo booth, seesaws and the Heartland Oaks Petting Zoo.
Food vendors offered a variety of choices throughout the evening, including kettle corn, funnel cakes, tacos, pizza, Thai food, shaved ice and other selections. Participating vendors included Texas Cut Catering & Events, Zaab Thai, Simply Sweet Texas Funnel Cakes, Dolce Tentacion, Lone Star Pizza, Hungrviet on a Stick and Snowie Shaved Ice.
Other vendors and organizations participating in the event included Moon Girl Boutique, Practically Magic and Old Katy Patio.
Rock the Block was held at Katy Historical Town Square in downtown Katy and was free to attend.
