FULSHEAR, Texas (Covering Katy News) — Fort Bend County residents will soon be able to obtain certified birth certificates and access several other county services closer to home when the Fort Bend County Clerk's Office launches its first-ever Records Express event in Fulshear.
The mobile outreach event is scheduled for Saturday, July 18, from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at the Fort Bend County Library – Fulshear Branch, located at 6350 GM Library Road.
Mobile outreach brings county services into the community
The new Records Express program is designed to make County Clerk services more convenient by taking them directly into neighborhoods rather than requiring residents to visit one of the office's permanent locations.
The featured service will be the issuance of certified birth certificates, which are commonly needed for school enrollment, passport applications, employment and other legal purposes.
Additional services available during the event
In addition to birth certificates, the County Clerk's Office will provide several other services, including:
- Recording and copies of property records
- Recording of assumed names (DBAs), military discharge records and other recordable documents
- Marriage license issuance
"We know how important documents like birth certificates are for everyday life—from enrolling a child in school to applying for a passport or starting a new job," Fort Bend County Clerk Laura Richard said. "With Records Express, our goal is to make these essential services more accessible by meeting residents where they are and providing a convenient way to obtain the records they need without having to travel far from home."
Partnership with Fulshear Branch Library
The County Clerk's Office is partnering with the Fort Bend County Library's Fulshear Branch to host the inaugural event and hopes the program will make government services more accessible to residents throughout western Fort Bend County.
