KATY (Covering Katy News) – For the first time in its history, the Katy Sip n Stroll was a sellout at last year’s event, and two of the people in attendance traveled from Louisiana to enjoy the fun after reading about it online.
The Sip N Stroll is held twice a year and is used as a major source of revenue for the Ballard House, a home-away-from-home for people who come to the Katy/Houston area for treatment of terminal illnesses.
Before the November 3, 2018 event, Kent and Paula Guillory had never experienced the Katy Sip N Stroll, and they’d never visited Katy.

“Friendly people, good food, good drinks and just a really good friendly town,” Kent said as he enjoyed a meal at the Local Table restaurant which overlooks the Sip n Stroll.
“It was worth the trip, 4 hours away, we’ll come back again,” Kent told Covering Katy News. They also liked the setting, the Villagio Town Center at Peek Road and Westheimer Parkway.
Paula was pleased that the money they spent on tickets would support The Ballard House which is located on South Mason Road in Cinco Ranch.
“That’s the best part,” Paula said.
All services that the Ballard House offers its guests are free and paid for in part by the Sip n Stoll which is held twice a year at the Villagio Town Center.
The couple spent the night at an I-10 hotel that’s near Katy Mills.
“It’s about 10 minutes away from here,” Kent said.
It’s not the first time that the Guillory’s have made the trip to the Houston area for fun events like the Sip n Stroll. Each year they travel to The Woodlands for a similar event. Now they are adding Katy to their list of fun travel destinations.
Tickets are on sale now for the next Sip N Stroll, Saturday, April 27, 2019.
