KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Katy school district now says it has arrested the person who is suspected of making online threats to Paetow High School and neighboring Stockdick Junior High. The Katy Independent School District also says the person who was arrested is not the same person who is shown in the threatening post that was made on the social media site Nextdoor.
There will be additional Katy school district police at Paetow and Stockdick today according to Katy ISD spokesperson Maria DiPetta.
In the threatening post, a boy is seen holding a handgun with the message “A lot of you so (saw) the video of me sorry I have to do this but I can’t live with it knowing y’all did this to me.”

He also wrote” “Don’t think I didn’t forget about you @stockdick jr.”
There is also a rifle seen in his post. It is unclear if he had access to the rifle or simply added it to the post to be more intimidating. The Paetow High School principal described it as an “automatic gun,” but Katy ISD police have now confirmed that it was a semi-automatic gun.
Covering Katy is attempting to determine if the student had access to either of the guns shown in the post, given that we now know the person making the threats is not the same person in the photo.
The Paetow High School Principal’s message to parents is below as is a message from Katy ISD Police. We’ve also included photos from the threatening post.
Katy ISD Police Statement
“Yesterday evening reports of a terroristic threat to Paetow High School and Stockdick Junior High were reported and spread through social media. School officials immediately reported the incident to the Katy ISD Police Department.who immediately began investigating. A suspect was identified and is in custody charged with Exhibition of a Firearm and Online Impersonation. The juvenile in the photos was not the suspect who made the threats and was completely unaware. Additional officers will be at the campuses this morning to provide an extra presence.”
Covering Katy will update this story as more information becomes available.
Dear PHS Parents, Staff, and Community,
This evening school administration was made aware of a photo circulating on social media that featured a possible Paetow High School student holding a handgun, as well as an automatic gun (note: it has not been confirmed that its as a semi-automatic gun) that was laying on the floor. The post included a direct threat pertaining to PHS. Katy ISD police were immediately informed of the post, and have already begun an active investigation and identified a potential suspect.
Please know that safety is our highest priority at PHS. As such, out of an abundance of caution, we intend to have extra police officers patrolling our campus area tomorrow morning and throughout the day. In the meantime, we encourage parents to help students understand the serious implications that can result from inappropriate and/or threatening language or gestures. Please confirm with them the important role they play in keeping our school safe, and to report all potential threats or safety issues to an administrator or teacher immediately.
Students found to be making threats are disciplined to the fullest extent allowable by law and the Katy ISD Discipline Management Plan and Student Code of Conduct. With your help, we will continue our commitment to maintaining a safe and secure learning environment for all students.
I will provide an update on this incident once more information is known.
