HOUSTON (Covering Katy News) – Sergeants Troy Morin and Mike Thacker recently presented the Houston Astros with a Thin Blue Line American flag signed by dozens of first responders during Hurricane Harvey.  The presentation took place on the field of Minute Maid Park. Those who signed the flag served on the front lines throughout the storm.

“This flag bears the names and handwritten notes from our deputies, along with firefighters, EMS personnel, other law enforcement officials and many more who helped keep the peace in the hours, days and weeks during and after Hurricane Harvey,” said a statement from Constable Ted Heap’s office.

Those difficult times were disastrous for thousand’s of people in the Houston area but the Astro’s brought a great deal of joy to the city by winning their first World Series in October 2017.

“While these first responders kept the peace in Harvey’s aftermath, the Astros helped restore the joy in so many lives during their magical World Series run,” said a statement from Precinct 5.
