CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) – Parkway Fellowship’s second location in Katy proper has seen quick growth in attendance since it moved to a permanent space along Avenue D at 10th Street.
“We are moving to three services because this past Sunday we were at capacity,” said pastor Adam Jungeblut.
“I wasn’t expecting that (attendance) until Easter or maybe the fall,” he added.
Parkway Fellowship’s original campus is on FM 1093 at FM 1463 in Fulshear, but the church has been growing a City of Katy campus for many years by utilizing Katy ISD schools.

After holding services at Raines High School for the past two and a half years, Jungeblut held services at the new 8,000-square-foot location on Jan. 27 and there was an immediate increase in attendance.
“We’ve added 45 more chairs per service,” Jungeblut said.
He believes that having a permanent location, rather than one that’s in a local school, makes people more willing to become vested in a church. While the church now has great visibility along busy Avenue D, the new facility also projects a sense of permanence in the community because it has a space of its own.
“People no longer have to wonder is it (the church) going to make it,” he said.
Parkway will hold grand opening celebrations on Sunday, Feb. 17. Ribbon-cuttings will occur at the beginning of each service, with Mayor Chuck Brawner and other community leaders in attendance. Daddy Duncan’s BBQ and Stomping Grounds Coffee will provide refreshments. There also will be T-shirts and giveaways.
Sunday services are held at 9 a.m., 10:15 a.m. and 11:30 a.m.
