KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office has located the body of a 77-year-old Katy man who was reported missing on Thursday.
“We are sorry to report that we found Mr. Tai Park deceased along Buffalo Bayou behind Woodcreek Reserve, wrote Caitilin Espinosa of the Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office. “He was spotted by our helicopter crew,” she added in an email to Covering Katy News. No other information was provided.
Family members confirm that Park suffered from Parkinson’s Disease, according to the Sheriff’s Office. He left his residence at about 1 p.m. Thursday, July 19 and never returned. He lived in the Katy area.
“We send a heartfelt thank you to the many members of the community who searched alongside our staff for the last 20-hours,” Espinosa said.

At approximately 5 p.m. Thursday, a citizen found Park walking on the westbound service road on I-10 near FM 1463. The citizen dropped him off at a nearby McDonald’s Restaurant. Park then left that location, walking eastbound on the I-10 service road towards Pin Oak. A possible sighting was reported that Park was near Katy Mills Mall.
Park was described as an Asian male about 5-feet, 5-inches tall and weighs about 130 pounds. He has brown eyes and black hair.
