Local Military Recruits to be Honored on Veterans Day in Katy

KATY (Covering Katy News) –  On Sunday, November 11th, Veterans Day, a ceremony supporting our military will take place at the Second Baptist Church – West Campus. It is called T.E.A.M. SEND-OFF.

Texans Embracing America’s Military is a program developed to show encouragement and support to new military recruits leaving for boot camp. This is the first ever T.E.A.M. SEND-OFF event in the Katy and neighboring areas. New recruits from the Army, Navy, Air Force, and Marines will all be participating in this celebration.

One by one, a recruiter will step to the podium and announce the recruits name, introduce the family, and then announce where the recruit has chosen to enlist. The recruit will receive a token of appreciation from the community. After the ceremony, the attendees will form a receiving line where all the recruits will receive applause, handshakes, and hugs. This should be a great opportunity to get emotional photographs and/or videos.
