KATY (Covering Katy News) – A man is in critical condition following a one-vehicle accident on Greenhouse Road near Clay Road at 11:30 Monday night.
The driver was operating a Volvo sport utility vehicle. He was heading southbound on Greenhouse Road when the crash happened.
“He left the roadway and struck a tree. He was trapped inside the vehicle and extricated by the fire department and taken by Life Flight to Memorial Herman Hospital,” said Harris County Sheriff’s Office Deputy C. O’Bryant.” The Westlake Fire Department responded to the scene. It was unknown if the driver would survive.
“At this point, his injuries are still unknown, he’s still in critical condition,” O’Bryant said.
The driver’s name was not provided but O’Bryant described him as Hispanic, about 35 to 40 years old.
The standard toxicology test will be done to determine if the driver was impaired.
