KATY (Covering Katy News) – A Katy school bus was hit by a car on Elrod Road Friday morning. Elrod Road runs north to south between Clay Road and Morton Ranch Road in the Westland Creek Village subdivision, a short distance east of the Grand Parkway.
It is unknown if Friday morning’s fog contributed to the accident, but it apparently kept Life Flight from transporting the badly injured victim to the hospital. The injured man was the driver of the sedan that struck the school bus.
“Last I heard was that first responders wanted to do a Life Flight out there but it was too foggy to do so,” an eyewitness told Covering Katy.
“There were no students on the bust at the time,” Katy Independent School District spokesperson Maria DePetta told Covering Katy.
The sedan hit the school bus from behind.
DePetta had no information on the condition of the driver. Privacy laws make his condition unavailable without permission from the patient.
