KATY – Katy Independent School District has been awarded the Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting by the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA) as well as the Association of School Business Officials (ASBO) International.  Both organizations awarded the prestigious recognition to Katy ISD for its comprehensive annual financial report for the 2016-17 fiscal year.

“The Certificate of Achievement is the highest form of recognition in governmental accounting and financial reporting. Receiving this accolade represents a significant accomplishment for the Katy ISD Financial Services Department,” said Chief Financial Officer Christopher Smith.  “Our commitment to provide information in a user-friendly format is a clear indication of our commitment to transparency and to clearly communicate the District’s financial condition to the public,” added Smith.

All CAFR’s are judged by an impartial panel which seeks to demonstrate standards of full financial disclosure.  In addition, an Award of Financial Reporting Achievement has been awarded to the Katy ISD employees responsible for preparing the award-winning CAFR.  For other recognitions and information visit the Katy ISD Financial Department website.
