Harris County Flood Control Bond Public Hearings Being Scheduled

KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Harris County Commissioners Court has set August 25 as the date for a $2.5 billion bond election for flood control projects in the county and there will be two public hearing held in the Katy/Cypress are later this month.

Public input is important as commissioners decide which projects will be funded to address flooding.

“Commissioners have yet to say what projects will be included in the bond package,” said State Representative Mike Schofield.

A meeting on the Addicks Reservoir has been scheduled for June 21 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Richard and Meg Weekley Center on 8440 Greenhouse Road, Cypress, TX 77433


The meeting for the Cypress Creek Watershed has been scheduled for today, June 15 from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. It will be held at the Raveneaux Country Club on 9415 Cypresswood Drive, Spring, TX 77379
The meeting for the Barker Reservoir has yet to be scheduled. The full list of watershed meetings can be found online. Check back often as meetings are being times and locations are being added. The Harris County Flood District also allows you to provide your input online, by phone or by mail.
