WEST HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – The driver of a Chevy Cavalier had to be extracated from his car and taken by Life Flight to Memorial Hermann Hospital early Tuesday morning. The two vehicle crash happened at about 1:45 a.m.

“An F-150 (pickup) was stopped at a red light at the intersection of Pine Forest Lane and North State Highway 6. While stopped at the red light a Chevy Cavalier failed to control speed and ran into the back of the F-150,” said Harris County Sheriff’s Deputy M. Waits.

Pine Forest Lane is near Clay Road.

Investigators are attempting to determine the reason that the driver did not stop. They do not believe alcohol was a factor.

The driver of the Cavalier was in serious condition with broken legs when he was airlifted to the hospital. The Cavalier was a total loss.

The driver of the pickup truck was not hurt. His truck sustained damage to rear-end.

The Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department, Houston EMS and the Harris County Sheriff’s Office all responded to the crash.
