KATY (Covering Katy News) – Deputies from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office responded to reports of gunshots in the 24100 block of Silversmith Lane at 6:17 p.m. on Tuesday night but they could not find the person or persons responsible.
“When deputies arrived in the Williamsburg Hamlet subdivision they witnessed several individuals outside a residence, and they all fled on foot,” said Jason Spencer, spokesperson for the sheriff’s office. “Two possible suspects were detained, but they were later released,” Spencer told Covering Katy.
Williamsburg Hamlet is off Franz road a short distance west of the Grand Parkway.
“I went outside (Silversmith Lane) to go to the store around 7 to 7:30 and saw a cop with an AR-15 about 6 houses down and seconds later cop cars came in swarming,” wrote a Covering Katy reader.

While there were no arrests, deputies stayed in the neighborhood for about three hours according to the Covering Katy reader.
There were stories in the neighborhood about a person being shot but the sheriff’s office said there were no injuries.
“No injuries were reported,” Spencer said.
