Four-Year-Old Boy Shoots Himself Accidentally

NORTHWEST HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – A four-year-old boy is being treated for a self-inflicted gunshot wound at Memorial Hermann Hospital in Houston according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office.

The boy was taken to the hospital by Life Flight after the shooting that happened Tuesday night in the 31700 Dunham Lake Drive which is north of  the Grand Parkway near Highway 290.

The shooting happened at about 6 p.m. on Tuesday night at a home in the Stone Creek Ranch subdivision which is off Becker Road and not far from Katy-Hockley Road.

“The Violent Crime Unit is questioning the mother and father about how the child got a gun,” Harris County Deputy Thomas Gilliland told Covering Katy News. “They want to know how the gun was stored.”
