FULSHEAR (Covering Katy) – Fans of fine food and award-winning wines are invited to an afternoon of farm-to-fork ‘signature bites’ and family fun at the second annual Farm & Vineyard Faire hosted in the prestigious Fulshear Run community, Sunday, April 30 from 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.  Attendees will also enjoy meet-and-greets with celebrity chefs, and organically-themed presentations. Youngsters, 12-years-old and younger can enter for free and also get their face painted, watch the butterfly stiltwalker and enjoy the antics of a colorful clown.

Proceeds from the event benefit the Friends of Fort Bend County Historical Commission, who will be in the spotlight that afternoon.

“We are pleased at this opportunity to support the Friends of the Fort Bend County Historical Commission, a non-profit organization that supports projects to preserve our county’s treasured historical and cultural heritage,” says Doug Konopka, event host and president of DHK Development, developer of Fulshear Run.  “We hope our event will encourage awareness and appreciation of our county’s amazing history.”

The Friends of Fort Bend County Historical Commission support projects such as a new digital tour guide which is an app that serves as a unique geographical portal into events and locations of historical interest. Using a mobile device, a ‘time traveler’ can stand on the spot where Santa Ana’s army camped in Richmond in April 1836.

Honorary Event Chairs are Richmond Mayor Evalyn Moore, and local civic and business leaders Carole McCann, Robert Crosser, and Ken Stubbe.  Event chairs are Doug and April Konopka.
