FORT BEND COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – Fort Bend County Voters overwhelmingly approved a $219 million roads and bridge bond package.
The Yes vote easily won 70 percent to 30 percent. There were 18,919 votes for the bond and just 8,174 against it with 99 percent of the precincts reporting.
It was a package that Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers, who represents Katy, campaigned for because nearly $60 million in road improvements along the Grand Parkway, Roesner Road, and the Cane Island Parkway will be coming as a result of the bond passing. Many of the improvement will directly address congestion on Katy area roads.
