CYPRESS (Covering Katy News) – The ex-wife of a Cypress man will be questioned about a house fire that happened early Friday morning in a neighborhood off FM 529 between Barker Cypress Road and Greenhouse Road in Cypress.
“The homeowner apparently had some problems with the ex-wife. He’s concerned that his ex-wife may have come by and started the fire,” said Dean Hensley of the Cy-Fair Volunteer Fire Department.

The family has surveillance video and it’s believed to have captured the person who set the fire.
Cy-Fair Firefighters were called to a house on Spinney Lane at Paddock Bend Drive at 1:20 a.m.
“We got here within a couple of minutes,” Hensley said. “We had fire and smoke coming from the house,” he added.
Investigators say the fire started on the front porch and spread along the outside walls and into the attic. Everyone evacuated safely according to Hensley. There were no injuries. A father and his four teenage children were inside the house.
Fire crews quick arrival likely kept the house from sustaining additional damage.
