CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) – After several weeks of listening to the public and consulting with engineers, the Katy City Council has approved a $437,000 contract for drainage improvement and design with Costello, Inc. The engineering firm will also oversee construction work on the projects.
Mayor Chuck Brawner signed the contract following last week’s special meeting of the City Council.
The design process is expected to take about two and a half months. Following design approval, construction could start as early as March.
The plan calls for numerous improvements including upgrades to the Pine Forest subdivision’s current drainage system.
There are many more drainage improvements in the works, but the price tag is in the millions of dollars and will require voters to approve issuing bonds to fund the projects. Click here for more information.
