Commissioner Meyers Help’s a Harvey Hero Pay Medical Expenses

KATY (Covering Katy News) – Fort Bend County Precinct 3 Commissioner Andy Meyers is encouraging the public to help Robert “Matt” Markiton raise money for uninsured medical expenses associated with his heart, double lung, and kidney transplant. Meyers’s Fort Bend Charities also donated $5,000 to the effort.

Meyers wants the public to know that there is going to be a fundraiser on March 6, 2019, at the MKT Distillery at 5373 1st St, Katy, TX 77493, next to the No Label Brewery.

“Matt is a devoted father of two wonderful sons that he would like to see grow up and he fights every day for them,” said a statement from the family on the Help Hope Live website where a fundraiser is currently underway. “Despite his medical limitations, Matt was honored recently for his heroic rescue work during Hurricane Harvey. Matt is an amazingly resilient man who faces his adversities with furious faith that he can overcome,” the statement said.
