The Annual Rice Harvest Festival Parade Celebrated in Downtown Katy

 

CITY OF KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Katy Rice Harvest Festival Parade was held on Saturday in the City of Katy. The annual parade is always scheduled one week before the opening of the Rice Harvest Festival.

Those involved in the parade tossed candy to children along the route. Cheerleaders, cub scouts, politicians, Katy police officers, Sheriff’s Deputies, the VFW, and City of Katy firefighters were among the people who took part.

Each year the Katy Area Chamber of Commerce hosts the Rice Harvest Festival and the parade.

The 37th Annual Rice Harvest Festival will be held Saturday and Sunday, October 14 and 15, 2017 in downtown Katy. About 50,000 people typically attend the annual event.

There will also be more than 300 vendor and craft booths at the downtown Katy event
