KATY (Covering Katy) – A brazen gunman man has been robbing smoke shops in the Houston area, and one of his targets was a store on Provincial Boulevard in Katy. In all, the man is suspected of holding up at least eight smoke shops with a handgun and no attempt to hide his face.
On Thursday, September 14, 2017, at around 6 p.m. the gunman entered the Still Smoking Shop in the 21900 block of Provincial Boulevard and demanded money from the register. His gun was also fully visible after he pulled it from under his shirt.
The employee handed over the money, and the thief fled out the door in an unknown direction.
Harris County Sheriff’s Office Robbery Investigators and the Houston Police Department need the public’s help in identifying the man.
According to the Houston Police, the same man is believed to have twice held up a smoke shop in the 10800 block of Katy Freeway near North Wilcrest Drive.
Investigators say that he is a light-skinned black male, 25 to 30 years old, 6 feet tall and weighing 180 to 200 lbs.
In previous cases, the suspect was seen leaving in a black 2008-2009 Nissan Altima.
