Cinco Ranch CVS Robbery Suspect’s Truck Found Near Waco, Driver Evades Police

BELLMEAD, Texas (Covering Katy) – Police in a community near Waco believe they had a close encounter with a man who is suspected of robbing a Katy CVS store. They recovered his pick up truck on Saturday, but the man who was with the truck took off on foot and is still at large. The encounter happened in Bellmead, Texas.

In the morning hours of March 18, a Bellmead police officer found the truck parked on a country road just north of Waco. When the officer ran the license plate he learned it belonged to Darrel Glen Kees, the Katy CVS robbery suspect.

Investigators say Kees held up the CVS store at the corner of South Fry Road and Westheimer Parkway at 7:30 p.m. on March 6.  He demanded  and received a drug that contained the opiate hydrocodone.

Charges have been filed and a $100,000 bond has been set.
