HOUSTON (Covering Katy News) – The American Automobile Association, known as Triple-A, will offer its tipsy tow service once again this new year’s eve. The service will be available between the hours of 6 p.m. new year’s eve and 6 a.m. new year’s day.
“This is a last resort community service,” said AAA spokesman Joshua Zuber.
An impaired driver can call 1-800-AAA-Help and request the service but there are restrictions.
“We’re not going to come out and deliver gas. We’re not towing inoperable vehicles, and we are certainly not going to take a person to another drinking establishment or a party, Zuber said. “This service is to get you and your car home safely, whether that’s to your home, or to a hotel where you are a guest or about to become a registered guest.”

AAA is offering this service throughout the state of Texas and the first ten miles of towing will be free.
“Beyond ten miles and the person will have to negotiate the price with the driver,” Zuber said.
The Tipsy Tow Service is available to anyone, even if they are not a member of AAA.
