KATY (Covering Katy News) – Typhoon Texas, one of the Houston area’s largest seasonal employers, is looking to fill more than 1,000 part-time jobs as the west Houston waterpark prepares to open for its fourth season on Saturday, April 20.
Positions are available in Water Safety, In-Park Entertainment, Cash Control, Food and Beverage, Cabanas and Bars, Parking Lot Attendants, Maintenance, Front Gate, Retail, Birthdays and Park Services. The waterpark also offers internships within its Media, IT, Groups and HR departments.
Applications can be accessed at www.typhoontexas.com. Completed applications submitted online will be reviewed by the park’s management team. Applicants will be contacted for interviews hosted at Westland Baptist Church, 1407 West Grand Parkway South, Katy, Texas 77494.
Besides the opportunity to work more hours than most seasonal jobs, team members receive over $6,500 in Team Member Perks. These include friends and family tickets, a season pass for active team members, discounts with local retail shops and restaurants, and more. Those in water safety who work through the entire season are reimbursed the cost of their water safety certification class.

Team members also are nominated to participate in leadership and career training sessions which give them tools to achieve long-term success as young professionals regardless of whether or not they continue working in the aquatics industry.
“This is a summer job you can brag about,” remarks Typhoon Texas General Manager Evan Barnett.
As part of its employee recognition program, Typhoon Texas awards team members with Rising Stars for reinforcing the waterpark’s “moment-making” keys. Rising Star pins and certificates are presented to team members during their shifts where guests can participate in the recognition.
“We want team members to look back at their employment at Typhoon Texas as the place they learned skills that helped them later in life,” Barnett adds.
In 2017, Typhoon Texas was awarded Best Employee Reward & Recognition Program among global attractions under one million in annual attendance by the International Association of Amusement Parks & Attractions. In 2018, Typhoon Texas was ranked 14th “Best Large Company to Work for in Houston.”
