Rehabilitation Hospital to be Built along Grand Parkway in Katy


KATY (Covering Katy News) – A 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital will be built along the west side of the Grand Parkway south of Kingsland Boulevard. The facility will be built by Encompass Health Corporation formerly known as HealthSouth Corporation.The hospital will be located at The Reserve at Grand Parkway, a ninety-acre mixed-use development on the Grand Parkway.

The project will represent an investment of approximately $25 million and will bring approximately 90 full-time jobs to the community. Construction is expected to start in fall 2018 with patient care beginning in fall 2019.

The hospital will provide comprehensive rehabilitative services and around-the-clock registered nursing care to patients who are overcoming a variety of debilitating illnesses and injuries such as stroke and other neurological disorders, brain injuries, spinal cord injuries, amputations and complex orthopedic conditions.

Included in the hospital will be a large therapy gym, rehabilitation technologies, an activities suite, dining room, in-house pharmacy, and courtyard.

Encompass Health provides post-acute services in 36 states and Puerto Rico and has 23 inpatient rehabilitation hospitals, 53 home health locations and nine hospice locations within its Texas network.
