KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Katy Area Retired Educators held their monthly meeting recently and had an opportunity to learn about “Protecting Your Money” with Yvonne Kershner, Janet Strickland and Casey Herndon from Brazos Valley School Credit Union.
K.A.R.E. was also presented with a check from Coffee for a Cause at Legends Coffee House & Café where Fred Green entertained with a Folk Song Sing-a-long. All donations, from patrons, and tips, from the wait staff, were set aside for the K.A.R.E. Scholarship Fund.
In addition, K.A.R.E. elected new officers for 2019/2020.
“Many thanks to Gerald Young for his service as President for the past two years,” said a statement from the organization.
