KATY/HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – In fall 2020, Katy Independent School District will open a new elementary school in the Elyson neighborhood off the Grand Parkway in north Katy. The school is being funded by the 2017 bond program.
A groundbreaking ceremony originally scheduled for Friday, May 10 has been postponed due to inclement weather. There has not yet been a date provided for when the event will happen.
As new communities continue to be developed throughout the District, Katy ISD will break ground on Elementary #43, located in the Elyson subdivision. The new school will address growth in the northwest quadrant of the district, as well as provide relief to existing campuses that currently enroll students in surrounding attendance boundaries.
