ROSENBERG (Covering Katy News) – The Lamar Consolidated School District has announced that Hubenak, Ray and Velasquez elementary schools are among only 85 schools in Texas to earn the Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association’s TEPSA Student Leadership Award.
This is the first year for TEPSA to offer the recognition.
Student leaders were required to demonstrate how their leadership impacted their schools, as well as how they serve their campus and community.
Diane Parks is the principal at Hubenak Elementary, Ben Perez is the principal at Ray Elementary and Brian Gibson is the principal at Velasquez Elementary. The trio will be recognized at the annual TEPSA Summer Conference.
Also, Dickinson and Frost elementary schools are among just 30 schools Texas schools to receive the National Association of Elementary School Principals Honor Council Excellence Award.
This is Dickinson’s ninth time on the list and Frost’s fourth.
Each year the National Association of Elementary School Principals recognizes outstanding elementary and middle school student leadership throughout the nation. This prestigious honor is indicative of the outstanding work done on these campuses to foster student leadership.
Karen Mumphord is the principal at Dickinson Elementary and Shannon Hood is the principal at Frost Elementary. They will be honored at the annual Texas Elementary Principals and Supervisors Association Summer Conference.
