CITY OF KATY, Texas (Covering Katy News) - Katy High School student Aiza Saad Farooqui claimed the Best of Show award at the Rice Harvest Festival this year and she has donated her piece so it can be placed on public display.
Mayor Dusty Thiele recognized Farooqui's achievement during a special city council meeting, where Farooqui announced her decision to donate the piece for public display.
“We are so proud of Aiza and all our students for their showing in the festival’s art contest,” said Laura Simoneaux, Assistant Director of Fine Arts in Katy ISD. “The festival is a major event for our larger community and allows for our students’ creativity to be on full display.”
