KATY – The Katy Independent School District was awarded 13 Star Awards for outstanding work in communications, branding and school public relations by the Texas School Public Relations Association (TSPRA), as part of that organization’s annual awards program.  The District competed against 1,460 other entries from school districts across the state and won one “Best of Category,” and five gold and seven silver recognitions.

“Our team’s number one priority is to keep our parents, students and community members connected and informed through transparent and timely communication that reaches stakeholders where they are at, be it on-line or in-person,” said Chief Communications Officer, Dr. Andrea Grooms.  “The staff’s proactive approach to engaging the community through multiple communications campaigns and platforms provides unique opportunities for our community’s voice to be heard and a part of decision-making that directly impacts our students’ learning experiences,” added Grooms.
