HCC names associate vice chancellor for student engagement and success

HOUSTON (Covering Katy News) – Houston Community College will soon have a new associate vice chancellor, student engagement and success. Kimberly M. Lowery has been named to the position and will join HCC Sept. 4, 2018.

Houston Community College has several campuses in the Houston area including one in the Katy area at 1550 Foxlake Drive.

Lowery currently serves as associate vice president for academic affairs and student success at Eastfield College in Mesquite, Texas. At Eastfield, Lowery has been responsible for providing leadership and oversight to all student service areas, as well as educational partnerships and guided pathways.

“We are excited that Kimberly Lowery will be joining our HCC family,” says Athos Brewer, vice chancellor of student services. “Kimberly brings many years of college-level experience in areas of advising, career services, student engagement, dual credit, veteran services, registration, and disability services.”

Lowery received her doctorate in higher education from the University of North Texas. She earned a master’s in counseling and a bachelor’s in psychology from California State University, Long Beach.
