KATY (Covering Katy News) – All three Harmony School of Innovation-Katy robotics teams that went to the Southeast Texas FIRST Tech Challenge performed very well recently. One of them even came away with a first-place award and moved on to the next round of competition, the FIRST Tech Challenge South Super Regional Championships in Georgia.
The FIRST Tech Challenge is designed for student teams to compete by designing, building, and programming their robots.
The Royal Robotics team from the Harmony School of Innovation was one of only four teams to move on to the South Regional Championships in Georgia.
Of the 36 teams that competed, Harmony’s Royal Robotics team took first place for Innovation and won four additional awards.
1st Innovate Award | 2nd Design Award | 3rd Motivate Award |3rd Think Award |3rd Inspire Award
The first-place design award recognizes design elements of the robot that are both functional and aesthetic. The design award is for teams that best incorporate industrial design elements into their solution. These design elements could simplify the robot’s appearance by giving it a clean look, be decorative, or otherwise express the creativity of the team. The winning design can’t compromise the practical operation of the Robot but must complement its purpose.
