KATY (Covering Katy News) – James Cross, the principal of Cinco Ranch High School has been named the Texas PTA Outstanding Educator of the Year in the category of Secondary Principal.
The award ceremony took place in Dallas on July 21. The event was attended by 3000 PTA leaders and members across the state.
Before accepting the award, Cross was introduced by his nominator, Cris Bowden, Membership Chair of Katy ISD Council of PTAs. Bowden’s nomination read in part, “As a campus leader, Mr. Cross sets the tone that students are important partners in their education. He reaches students by demonstrating that he cares about them and their education, always greeting and encouraging them.”
The Texas PTA put out a call for nominees in February. Local PTAs to nominate an elementary and secondary teacher, an elementary and secondary principal, and a superintendent. There were hundreds of nominations.
