KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office will be issuing a warrant for the arrest of a man who ran from deputies today, July 31, but left his car behind.
Around noon today, a Fort Bend County Sheriff’s Office deputy was on patrol when he noticed a suspicious vehicle in a parking garage at LaCenterra. The deputy approached the vehicle and saw a man allegedly using narcotics, possibly heroin, inside the car. The deputy got the man out of the car and was patting him down when the suspect ran.
A chase ensued with the suspect running through the lobby of a nearby apartment complex before ultimately getting away. A law enforcement helicopter was already in the air when the suspect ran and briefly aided in the search until severe weather interfered.
The suspect has been identified via documents in his car and a warrant will be issued for his arrest.
