HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – Deputies from Constable Ted Heap’s Office arrested two teenagers recently after a homeowner is said to have caught them inside his home burglarizing the place.
“Shortly after 3 a.m. on Thursday morning, Dec. 27, 2018, the homeowner was awakened by a noise inside his home in the 7300 block of Legacy Pines Drive,” said a statement from Constable Ted Heap’s office. “When he checked on the noise, he found one of the armed suspects in a spare bedroom.”
Legacy Pines Drive is near Greenhouse Road and FM 529.
The dangerous situation came to an end without anyone being hurt.

“The homeowner was able to disarm the suspect, a 16-year-old juvenile, who then led him to a second suspect hiding in a nearby closet,” said the Precinct 5 Constable’s Office statement. “That suspect, a 17-year-old, surrendered and turned over his firearm. The homeowner held the two suspects at gunpoint until Precinct 5 deputies arrived and arrested them.”
The 17-year-old is being treated as an adult and was booked on first-degree felony burglary charges. He is free on a $60,000 bond.
