KATY/HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – A man was in critical condition after being stabbed in Katy-Harris County during the pre-dawn hours Sunday morning.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the incident that took place at about 4 a.m. along the Grand Parkway feeder road and Mercantile Parkway not far from the Cinemark Theater.

“EMS responded to a 27-year-old male that told personnel a known 29-year-old male stabbed him,” Deputy Thomas Gilliland told Covering Katy News. “The male was transported to a Katy area hospital in critical but stable condition,” Gilliland said.
The man who stabbed the victim was found at the nearby Katy Arts Medical Building. He was seeking treatment for his injuries according to Gilliland. The man will be charged deputy Gilliland revealed. The exact charge or charges will depend on the outcome of the investigation which is still ongoing.
The Harris County Precinct 5 deputy constables were first on the scene and they detained the man. He was later taken into custody by deputies with the Sheriff’s Office.
The Harris County Sheriff’s Office Violent Crimes Division has taken over the case.
