KATY/HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – A Morton Ranch High School paraprofessional has been fired after the Katy Independent School District Police Department charged him with engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student. The charge is a second-degree felony.
Bennie Solomon, 25, is accused of sending sexually explicit material to a student according to court documents. The messages, according to prosecutors, were sent electronically.
Solomon is from Rosenberg and was arrested on Friday, May 15, 2019. He’s since been released on a $10,000 bond. As part of his bond, he’s to have no contact with the student.

Dear Morton Ranch High School (MRHS) Parents/Guardians and Staff,
The purpose of this message is to inform you that today the Katy ISD Police Department arrested a MRHS paraprofessional for engaging in an inappropriate relationship with a student. Upon learning of the incident, the paraprofessional was immediately removed from the school setting and was terminated.
Please be assured that the District takes these types of allegations very seriously and is fully cooperating with police. Providing a safe and secure learning environment is and will continue to be our top priority.
