KATY (Covering Katy News) – The Harris County Sheriff’s Office has identified the victim of Monday’s hit and run accident on Elrod Road as Tonashia Lavergne. The accident was reported at 11:50 p.m. Oct. 29, 2018.
“Lavergne was riding her bicycle southbound in the middle of the lane of traffic,” said a report from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. “Lavergne’s bicycle was not equipped with any of the required lighting,” the report said.
The section of Elrod Road where the accident happened was very dark. Elrod Road runs through the Williamsburg Colony subdivision between Franz and Morton Ranch Roads.
An unknown make or model dark-colored pickup truck was traveling southbound and struck Lavergne. The driver did not stop.

“Ms. Lavergne was found at the scene of the crash with no signs of life,” the report said.
Deputies have not yet found the driver who struck Lavergne. That person faces a failure to stop and render aid charge.
