KATY/HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – The Muslim American Society- Katy Center Mosque was shot at early Monday morning according to the Harris County Sheriff’s Office and deputies are looking for the public’s help finding the person responsible. The mosque is located at 1800 Baker Road.
An employee of the mosque told deputies that a contractor’s truck parked in an outside lot was struck by gunfire from the roadway. The vehicle had a bullet hole in the windshield, and the mosque’s front wall was also struck by a round.
Mosque employees believe the incident took place sometime early Monday morning around 3 a.m., but the damage was not discovered until yesterday afternoon. A still photo from surveillance video is only evidence being released by investigators. The make and model of the vehicle are undetermined.
