KATY/Harris County (Covering Katy News) – Crime scene tape in front of a hospital is a rare sight, but that’s what could be seen in front of Memorial Hermann Hospital in Katy early this morning.
Around 12:10 a.m. on Friday, May 3, 2019, Richard Teran, 35, arrived at the hospital in a pick-up truck with bullet holes. Teran had been shot in the head. He later died at the hospital and crime scene tape was placed around his truck so potential evidence would be protected.
“Deputies arrived on scene and learned the injured adult male was left in the backseat of a truck which was parked in the Emergency Room driveway,” said a statement from the Harris County Sheriff’s Office. “The driver of the truck immediately fled on foot after calling a nurse to the vehicle.”
Harris County Sheriff’s Office detectives are attempting to determine if the man was involved in a shooting that happened in a neighborhood further east at about the same time.
