Harris County Pct. 5 Deputies Arrest Biker after Chase in Katy Area

KATY/HARRIS COUNTY (Covering Katy News) – Precinct 5 deputies arrested Matthew Ryan Post, 23, on a charge of evading arrest after he tried to flee on his sports motorcycle from a traffic stop in Katy on Sunday afternoon.

Shortly after 4 p.m., a deputy responding to a complaint from another driver who said they saw Post and two other motorcycle drivers weaving in and out of traffic at high speeds, popping wheelies, and causing danger to other law-abiding motorists near North Fry Road and FM 529.

The deputy pursued the motorcycles to Stockton Falls Drive, where two of the drivers pulled over. A third, Post, sped off on his Honda CBR through a residential neighborhood reaching speeds of 60 miles per hour.

The pursuit ended shortly thereafter when Post turned into a cul-de-sac, leaving him nowhere to go.

Post was arrested without further incident and now faces felony charges of evading arrest.
