Crime Stoppers Fundraiser Oct. 20

The Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers Organization is conducting a fundraiser on Oct. 20.

“It is the mission of the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers Organization to work with the public by giving everyone an opportunity to share information about felony crimes while remaining anonymous,” said Leslie Woods, president of the organization. “To continue our mission, it is vital that we have the support of our community through monetary donations.”

The organization’s initial effort is a “shred event” fundraiser, which gives citizens and companies the opportunity to safely shred sensitive documents while supporting the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers organization.

All documents will be shredded by a professional vendor.

The event will be held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 20 in the parking lot of Gallery Furniture, located at 7227 W. Grand Parkway South in the Richmond area. As well, there will be a designated location near our trucks for those who would like to witness their documents being shredded onsite.

“Your generous donation of any amount will go toward the important mission of Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers,” Woods. “The Crime Stoppers organization provides a vital instrument in catching criminals in Fort Bend County and the State of Texas. Any amount will go toward the important mission of the Fort Bend County Crime Stoppers organization and that is to keep our community safe.

“We also want to thank Gallery Furniture for allowing us to conduct this fundraiser at their location on the South Grand Parkway,” said Woods.

For those who cannot attend the event but would still like to donate, they can visit the organization’s website: http://www.fortbend.crimestoppersweb.com or the organization’s Facebook site athttps://www.facebook.com/fortbendcountycrimestoppers/ and click on the donate button.
