KATY (Covering Katy News) – Mo’s Place Katy will celebrate its 30th anniversary on Saturday, March 31, 2018, with a lineup of favorites sure to keep you dancing the night away.
Crowd favorite Chris Salinas will start off the show followed by the Texas Jamm Band (members of George Strait’s Ace In The Hole Band) and Mo is keeping the headliner top secret for now.
Mo Jeloudarzadeh came to America with only a suitcase in his hand. He worked as a dishwasher through college and was eventually promoted to bartender. In March of 1988, he opened Mo’s Place in a small strip center at the corner of Kingsland and Mason in Katy, Texas. He didn’t even have enough barstools the first night for all of the patrons that came to check out the new establishment.
Mo’s outgoing personality, tireless work ethic, and the fact that he treats you like family are the hallmarks of his success. Through several expansions, the nightclub is much larger than it was thirty years ago. What has not changed is that Mo and his family will still greet you with a “welcome home” and hug or handshake when you walk in the door.
Last year, Mo was presented with the prestigious “Pioneer Award” from the Texas Country Music Hall Of Fame for his nearly three decades of helping Texas Country Music Artists succeed. His slogan is “See The Stars Of Tomorrow at Mo’s Place Today,” and believes every young artist deserves a chance at success just as he was so graciously given many years ago.
Not only is Mo’s Place a great place to do a little two-steppin’ and drink an adult beverage, for many, it’s a piece of home.
Mo’s Place has held hundreds of benefits and fundraisers over the last thirty years, including most recently raising more than $60,000 for Hurricane Harvey relief. Mo has always opened up his business and his heart to those in need.
Whether you are a regular or you have only been to Mo’s a handful of times, all are welcome for the anniversary celebration on March 31.
